Standing on that terrace on my very first night in Paris, I felt a quiet disbelief wash over me. This was a city I had dreamed of my entire life—long before photography—when I imagined that one day I might experience Paris as a chef, inspired by its food, its rhythm, its history. Life unfolded differently, and photography became my language. That night, I realized how profoundly right that path had been.

As darkness settled in, the city began to glow. Streetlights traced the curves of the Seine, reflections stretching across the water like brushstrokes. Then the Eiffel Tower lit up, unmistakable and radiant, rising above the rooftops with a presence that took my breath away. Seeing it illuminated for the first time, not in photographs or films, but with my own eyes, felt almost unreal.

From this terrace, I was given a perspective I hadn’t dared to imagine—an elevated view that revealed the harmony of Paris at night. Domes, bridges, and historic facades came together in perfect balance, while the hum of the city moved softly below. Camera in hand, I felt a deep sense of amazement and gratitude—not just for the view, but for the opportunity to photograph a moment that represented both a lifelong dream and a personal arrival.

This image holds that feeling for me: the wonder of seeing Paris for the first time, the quiet thrill of photographing the City of Light as it revealed itself, and the realization that dreams don’t always arrive the way we expect—but sometimes in ways far more meaningful.
